From the luxury mansions in Kensington to the family flats in Kennington, London is home to millions of households. This interactive infographic charts the median house prices by the Tube stations, based on 1-bed or 2-bed properties listed on the search aggregator, Rightmove.

For methodologies, see very end of this article.

Median (average) house prices in London

The median price paid for Greater London in the period covered by the Land Registry database was £433,000. And the average price for the same period was £761,135. Median prices are used in this site in favour of mathematical mean to avoid a small number of outliers skewing the results.

Tldr — Methodologies

-The data points were collected from Rightmove in Aug 2019.
-The chart is a snapshot of the time when the data points were collected and is not updated in real time.
-Based on listed prices.
-The search was targeted to 1 to 2 bedroom properties within 1/2 miles from a station between Zone 1 and 3.
-The search included properties marked as “on offer” or “sold”.
-For visualisation purposes, the charts start from north to south or west to east.
-Stations that service multiple lines and have different entrances are treated as separate data points — for example, Hammersmith (District & Piccadilly) and Hammersmith (Hammersmith & City) are treated as two independent entries.
-Based on median prices, not mean.
